Please read carefully our terms & conditions for your booking. It is essential that you are aware of what your booking entails. It may be boring, but it is important! You must be able to enter into a legally binding contract and be 18 years or over to make a booking.
BOOKING GUARANTEE & CONFIRMATION
We require valid credit card details to secure a booking. We reserve the right to charge the card for cancellations falling outside the permitted period outlined in the Cancellations section. Once the credit card details are received, we will normally e-mail the details of your booking by way of confirmation.
BOOKING DETAILS
All bookings are to be confirmed through receiving valid credit card details by phone or fax. If we do not receive your credit card details within 24 hours of making a booking (or unless agreed otherwise), the booking cannot be guaranteed. Please check the booking information carefully, as we cannot accept responsibility for any errors, which are not, brought to our attention immediately on receipt of confirmation.
PAYMENT
All major debit or credit cards are welcome. Cheques are only acceptable 7 days prior to your date of arrival. Please make cheques payable to 'Afton Guest House'. Final payment is required on the day prior to departure to avoid any delays on departure.
CANCELLATION OR AMENDMENT
We are not a large establishment, so please read our cancellation policy carefully. Reservation is made with the AFTON GUEST HOUSE ("the guest house", "We", "Us", "Our") and represents a legally binding contract between you and the guest house. We require a minimum of 14 days notice of cancellation or amendment of any reservation to avoid a cancellation charge. Cancellations made between 14 & 7 days in advance of the planned reservation will be charged 50% of the total value of the reservation. Cancellations made less than 7 days in advance of the reservation will be charged 100% of the confirmed reservation. At the sole discretion of the proprietors, there may be a partial refund of the charge if we are able to re-let the cancelled room(s). All cancellations or amendments must be made IN WRITING via email, fax or post. We shall confirm the receipt of your cancellation.
A cancellation must be confirmed back to you by the Guest House. If you have not received a confirmation of the cancellation within 24 hours after submission (with the exception by Post), you should assume that we have not received it and you must resubmit it. Amendments made less than 14 days in advance of a planned reservation will be considered as a part cancellation of an existing booking.
AVAILABILITY
If in the rare unforeseen circumstances we cannot provide your booked accommodation, you will be offered alternate accommodation or a full refund.
NO SHOW
In the event of a no show, you will be charged at the full cost of the booking.
ARRIVAL & DEPARTURE TIME
Check-in from 14.00 to 20.00 (GMT) (unless agreed otherwise by prior arrangement) & check-out by 10.00 AM (or other time by prior agreement). Late check-out charge may apply. We do not have staff on location at all times so it is imperative that you give us an estimated time of arrival so that you will be met on your arrival.
ROOM CLEANING
Rooms are cleaned between 10.00 and 12.00; staff will not enter the room if it is occupied.
KEYS
Guests are expected to look after the keys responsibly. A charge will be made for the loss or damage to keys.
SMOKING
NO SMOKING is permitted in the guest house. All bedrooms are non-smoking, so if guests are found to not comply they will be asked to leave immediately. We reserve the right to charge an extra night's stay if we have to especially clean and air the room for 24 hours.
PETS
Unfortunately we have no provisions for pets.
GUEST HOUSE ACCESS
You have access to your room/guest house at all times upon obtaining the keys. However, as a courtesy to other guests, no disturbances or loud noise from 23.00 to 07.00. If there are any complaints or non-compliance, you will be asked to leave without any refund.
CONDUCT
We reserve the right to judge acceptable levels of noise or behaviour of guests. In the event of failure to comply with requests, we may terminate the booking immediately without being liable for any refund or compensation.
VALUABLES
We cannot accept responsibility for loss of any valuables. Please ensure that you take all your valuables with you.
INSURANCE
Guests are recommended to have insurance to cover cancellation, curtailment, and loss of baggage, personal effects and money.
VISITORS
Visitors are not allowed in the bedrooms without our prior consent.
CHILDREN
Children are welcome and must be accompanied by adults. Individual guests must be 18 years old and over. Children over the age of 12 are charged as adults
DAMAGES
If we suffer damages to items belonging to the guest house due to willful negligence or deliberate misuse resulting in a replacement, cleaning or repair being carried out - we reserve the right to reclaim all and any costs incurred including loss of business by charging the credit card given to secure the booking, without prior consent being required. Invoices will be supplied to support the claims/costs charged.
PRIVACY
Afton Guest House will not share your personal details with any third party. We will not store your credit card details. Your credit card information is only used to process payment and guarantee your booking.

We may process the information you provide for the purpose of processing payment and you consent to this processing of information
